The great features of Telegram that takes the messaging event to another dimension

Launched in 2013 by Russian software developer Pavel Durov, Telegram has really had a lot of super features, since it has helped many messaging applications ever since.

  • By adding a username to your telegram account, you can have other users message you with this username without providing your phone number.
  • You can use telegram applications available for phone, tablet or computer simultaneously (apart from applications, there is also a telegram web interface). Your phone does not need to be on or connected to the internet, just log in to other applications.
  • With telegram you can send a single file up to 1.5 GB in size. In total, there is no size limit.
  • You can send a silent or timed message with telegram (if you press and hold the send button, the menu appears). In the silent message, the notification sound will not sound when the message you send reaches the other user. In the timed message, you can ensure that your messages reach the other user on the day and time you want.
  • telegram has a secret chat option. In this system, the message preview does not appear on the notification screen, you cannot transfer messages to another conversation and are not logged in any way on telegram servers. You can also send messages that have been deleted on both sides after being read, in private chat. Taking screenshots here is forbidden on many devices, but if you can take it in some way, the information that you take on the screenshot goes to the other party. Secret chat is device-specific, has end-to-end encryption, and is not available in telegram desktop applications.
  • In normal chat, you can only send media (video, gif, photo, etc.) deleted after being seen.
  • You can delete any message you send in telegram within 48 hours. The message you deleted disappears completely, and no text such as “this message has been deleted” appears in other users.
  • You can completely delete your conversation history for both parties. There is no time limit in this.
  • You can edit the messages you send in telegram. At the bottom of the edited message, there is an expression “edited”.
  • Depending on your location, you can join public groups that are nearby, get people nearby to communicate with you (you have to make yourself visible for this, of course) or talk to people who are visible (don’t ask me where it’s safe), something optional, after all. My account is always open, also your phone number is definitely not visible here again.
  • With the saved messages section, you can take notes, upload files, and access these files from other devices (there is a culture of e-mailing, you can write to the registered messages instead). You can also add a reminder to your note by holding down the send button in the saved messages section.
  • Thanks to standard themes or themes you can create, you can have the look you want, you can share them with others.
  • There is an automatic night mode, which you can set the time for yourself. So, you can say switch to dark theme after that time.
  • You can increase or decrease the font size of the messages as desired without changing the overall font size of the device.
  • It has hundreds of official or informal bots. With these bots, you can automate everything that can be automated. For example, you can reach your messages in the Gmail or send new messages with the Gmail bot, you can easily search and find YouTube videos with the YouTube bot, you can reach the classical music works that are free with the music bot, or you can play instant games with other users. There’s a bot for everything you can think of. You can find them on the internet. If not, you can produce bots to automate your processes yourself. You can read the details of the telegram’s bots page.
  • Unlike other Facebook or Google based applications, what you write here will not appear as an advertisement after you. Your data never goes beyond telegram servers.
  • You can create an open or private telegram group for up to 200,000 users.
  • You can mute groups completely, not just for a limited time.
  • You can easily manage large groups thanks to bots special to groups. For example, I am currently in a group of more than 15,000 people. Bots prevent messaging outside the subject by giving the user a time penalty.
  • If you are a group manager, you can determine the speed of the messages. It is especially useful in crowded groups.
  • You can create an open or private channel with unlimited users. Only those who are administrators can post messages on these channels.
  • For channels with more than 1000 members, there is a detailed channel statistics section where managers can track the channel’s growth rate and the number of times messages are seen.
  • You can survey the groups and channels, attach a message that all users can see at the top of the group.
  • You can find public groups, channels and bots from the search section in the telegram.
  • telegram applications are all open source. So, if you understand from programming, you can check the codes of telegram applications yourself or write your own telegram applications. But the server-side codes are not yet open, they say they will make them open.
  • It has movable or inactive stickers on many topics and up to date, which you can search and find within the app.
  • It also has animated emojis. For example, when you send dice emojis, it shows a random number every time (they say they did it so that they can play Catan or D&D from afar. I think it is fun).
  • You can make end-to-end encrypted voice calls on telegram (no video calls yet). The connection speed and call quality are pretty good.
  • You can create a folder and classify your conversations. For example, you can create a separate folder for your personal conversations and a separate folder for your job interviews and reach your messages easily without getting lost in the unnecessary crowd.
  • You can use proxy in telegram.
  • If you want, you can lock the telegram application by adding a password.
  • If you are not online within a certain period you can choose, you can have your account automatically delete itself.
  • You can use multiple telegram accounts in one application.
