I liked the idea that La casa de papel committed during the first two seasons, although I found the narrative scattered. This idea is more than robbery, love, action, “as much as you want while planning, as much as you want. The series also implemented this idea nicely. The professor was a character who planned against the possibility of everything going wrong. But the way things got mixed up was a little weak. Because yes, all the problems were caused by the human factor, but when he wrote his professor very forward-thinking, he had to write his team in such a way that even the child would not make mistakes.

This situation was manageable during the first two seasons, but in the third season this mechanics became boring now. Because the team was trying to get action even if there were problems. This did not ultimately match the profile of the professor carefully selected. So, I cannot say that the third season is technically very good. Nevertheless, I started watching the 4th season, saying that there is a chance that the series will recover in the new season. Now let’s see if the series has returned to its acclaimed seasons or continues to deteriorate from the third season.

First of all I must say that the approach of the series to the characters is very interesting.

Normally, when you have the chance to make a long-running series, you hold the colorful characters that diversify the story and give way to the characters that cause the flow to stop. In this series, they do the opposite.

For example, it is not very difficult to understand the situation about Berlin. They designed himself as a psychopathic, egoistic, but devilish character and succeeded in practice. With the contribution of the player, they drew a versatile character portrait that is ready to explode at any time but with an elegant vibe. Many viewers already liked this character. However, since they normally designed the series as two seasons (which is a single season divided by two), they killed the character in the final to legend it. So far everything is normal, but the idea of killing Berlin burst in their hands when they decided to extend the series.

They brought Palermo to fill this gap. Even though Palermo draws a different profile from Berlin, the task he is given in the story is very well backed. He’s not cold-blooded like Berlin. However, if there is a problem that needs to be solved and you find the solution in flashbacks, this weakens the credibility of your story. For example, let’s say the professor needs a cable. Here we immediately enter a flashback and watch the professor think and prepare in advance for this possibility. The problem starts here because “we wrote a problem like this, but we did not prepare for a solution before. The story is also blocked now. What should we do? It looks like they said. This clearly shows what the writers of the series are trying to save.

But not all flashbacks in the series are like that. There are moments when used on-site. For example, when Gandia is released and takes Nairobi hostage, flashbacks are used to deepen this character and show how lonely he is under his funny image. Which increases the effect of this technique death? However, the killing of Nairobi, who managed to be versatile in the series while there were so many characters, also simplifies the narrative.

The controversy he had previously pointed out, but while other characters were crushed under stress, Denver became a more mature and versatile character when he first met Monica and then lost his father. However, when he saw Monica and Rio talking, he was jealous, commenting on Tokyo, not seeing the emotional needs of the person in front of him (making fun of Rio and Monica who shared his troubles with Tokyo) and not understanding his mistake while scolding Monica (which didn’t happen to us. Trying to support Rio on its own was very well-thought-out moments that show different aspects of the character.

The characters the series changes are not just limited to Denver. In the final of the last season, we left the professor in a bad situation. In this season, we see different aspects of the character. In the first two seasons, our character was socially weak, someone who did not care about people, who preferred to act like a functional machine (although not very successful in this regard). In this season, we see him running and being defeated. This escape logic makes the series more exciting. We also see that the character misses Berlin and is really worried about Lisbon and other members of the team. These point out that the character dynamic has changed.

Up to this point, we talked about some good aspects of the series. However, as you may notice, these are very small details within the eight episodes we watched. Unfortunately, I cannot say such positive things for the part that covers most of the series.

The first problem of the series is that they make a lot of effort to make the audience feel something while the script is being written.

For example, in anime there is a concept called fan service. The producers, who know that the story is not very good, try to keep the audience on the screen with what I do not know with the decollete. The fan service in this series is not visual, but the story seems to be designed for what the audience is most likely to react to.

Let’s take a look at Arturo’s involvement in the events, for example. Arturo was a selfish, dishonest and somewhat funny character before the novel. However, all this was revealed when he found himself in events he had not expected. We always learned when Arturo, a senior manager, was taken hostage when he was hostage when he was in a position where he should be brave in his professional life, not caring about the people working under him.

However, Arturo has completed his own story. He survived somehow and continued his life as a quack by not surprising us at the beginning of the third season. So far everything is normal. Exaggerated facial expressions and zero contribution to the flow of the story. It may not be a psychopathic character who tortures people, but it is not a problem, but beyond that, if a few details were added to his life, it would not be so clear that he was just a character written for the audience to get stress.

Though they try to translate this situation after an hour and tell Sierra their last time with his deceased wife. But at least in those moments, if we had seen Sierra unhappy a couple of times before, “it was her.” We could say. However, it seems as though he did not care about her husband’s death when he explained this because Sierra was busy with gnawing until he came here. That is why the train has already escaped and it becomes impossible for the audience to connect with the character.

Another character that is thought to let the audience be influenced by the story is Tokyo

Which is a reduced version of his role. Whatever happened to the team during the first three seasons was almost always caused by the mint that Tokyo ate. Now he’s a bit responsible for being here. But “this character is such impulsive.” Since it is easy to create stress, we see itself again in abundance. Even the leader is being made that if the screenwriter came across the camera and waved, “we did not ignore those who love the character.” He could say. Because yes, everyone can be a leader in the team. Tokyo is a competitive character too, but it’s a little strange that others support Tokyo. Because Tokyo has proven to be someone who could not be entrusted to it maybe tens of times. Maybe they are friends, maybe they are lovers of blind logs, but in an environment of such great stress, it makes no sense for other characters to accept Tokyo as the leader. Maybe if Tokyo developed step by step, we would accept it, but the screenwriters “character is already loved. Now who is going to deal with dozens of details.

The characters were like that. No matter how you say the storyline, the series doesn’t offer you much about that.

For example, there is a big operation in the series. Tons of gold are being melted, but the screenwriters will have forgotten that during the first three episodes of the season, the heist is hardly mentioned. The most fun parts of the first two seasons were the factory established by Nairobi. Here, we can see a memory like this only once when the Nairobi comes to the place of the boilers with its motorcycle where it sits like a throne.

Also, I think we got immune because we always saw the same thing, but the team’s discussion scenes were very low. Because you know that after a while, everyone will shoot guns, then a lot of threats will be blown away, but nobody will shoot anyone in the end. Because they’re doing it very suddenly if someone is going to be shot in the drama. Although it will not be shot, they hold the gun in the face for minutes. Once you realize this, there is no tension in those discussions.

One reason for this low voltage is that there is no progress story. So, the team is arguing but there is no real problem most of the time. For example, if something goes wrong during the robbery and then they discuss how to fix it, we will always hear different ideas of different characters, but the discussions are generally like child caprice.
